The Official Legal Code of the Micronation of Zania

Adopted under the authority of the Constitution of Zania

Section A — General Provisions

A1. Legal Authority

These statutes are enacted pursuant to the Constitution of Zania and shall have full legal force within the territory and jurisdiction of Zania.

A2. Definitions
  • Citizen: An individual who has been granted citizenship under the Constitution.
  • Zari (Ƶ): The official currency of Zania.
  • Government: The executive authority as defined in the Constitution.
  • Official Document: Any file, form, or record issued or recognized by the government.

Section B — Governance and Civil Procedures

B1. Public Governance
  • All official decisions and actions by the government shall be recorded and made available to the public unless restricted for legal or security purposes.
  • All citizens have the right to access public records.
B2. Voting and Referenda
  • Citizens aged 8 or older may vote on laws and amendments as described in the Constitution.
  • Voting shall be conducted through verifiable and secure methods approved by the government.
B3. Official Language

The official working languages of Zania are English and Hanri.

Section C — Citizenship and Conduct

C1. Code of Conduct
  • Citizens shall treat one another with respect and dignity.
  • Discrimination, harassment, or violence against any individual is strictly prohibited.
C2. Public Order

No citizen shall engage in disruptive conduct in public spaces, including but not limited to destruction of property, incitement of violence, or obstruction of lawful activity.

C3. Integrity of Process

Knowingly submitting false information in official matters is prohibited and subject to disciplinary action, including loss of civic privileges.

Section D — Currency and Finance

D1. Currency Structure
  • The official currency of Zania is the Zari (Ƶ).
  • Acceptable denominations include 1Ƶ, 5Ƶ, 10Ƶ, 50Ƶ, 100Ƶ, 500Ƶ, and 1000Ƶ.
D2. Minting Authorization
  • New currency may only be issued by the authority of the government and must be documented in the official Mint Ledger.
  • Unauthorized production or reproduction of currency constitutes counterfeiting.
D3. Exchange Policy
  • The exchange rate of the Zari shall be initially fixed at 1Ƶ = 0.50 USD, subject to future review by the government.
  • The Zari is a fiat currency and not backed by a physical commodity.

Section E — Land, Resources, and Infrastructure

E1. Land Use
  • Use of national land requires approval from the government.
  • Construction, modification, or deforestation of land must be authorized in advance.
E2. Transportation and Airspace

The operation of vehicles, including unmanned aerial systems, must comply with safety regulations and may be restricted by the government in certain zones.

Section F — Cultural and National Symbols

F1. National Symbols

The official flag, emblem, and insignia of Zania shall be protected by law. Misuse, alteration, or commercial reproduction without permission is prohibited.

F2. National Holidays

The following dates shall be observed as official national holidays:

  • Minting Day – May 24

Section G — Offenses and Penalties

G1. Counterfeiting

The intentional production or distribution of unauthorized Zari coins is illegal and punishable by revocation of currency holdings and potential loss of citizen privileges.

G2. Subversion of Law

Acts intended to sabotage, bypass, or unlawfully influence government processes may result in legal sanctions or citizen review.
